Huff and puff

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

We’re talking about evil tonight in our session: Hungry Like the Wolf. This session was postponed because of last month’s snow storm. I have to be honest, I was thoroughly bummed because I didn’t want to think about E V I L in depth for another month! The fact that is was postponed has been fruitful for me … let’s hope it’s fruitful for all those present. Hope to see you!

We receive minute meditations each morning in our email. Definitely a great tool to turn your heart to God for a moment of contemplation in your busy morning. You can subscribe on this site. Very nice.

Play with your food

This is a fun site if your kids are tactile learners … and hungry. Clever ways of incorporating learning about our faith with food. And since there is one with Poptarts, I’m sold.

One answer

We have been preparing our daughter for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation with the book  God is Real: Sixteen Questions: One Answer. It’s by Peter Kreeft. It isn’t specifically or only a confirmation prep book, it’s really a great, easy-to-read and entertaining resource for anyone looking explore the Catholic faith.  I highly recommend. I got a kindle version for the ipad via Amazon.

Hungry like the wolf is Tuesday

March 1st.7 p.m.

Wait. Is it almost March already? I know Sunday’s snow is a rude reminder that we’re still in the throes of winter … but each day is one day less until Spring has sprung. Hope to see you Tuesday!

Mother Mary, comfort me

This is a great post by one of my favorite (often hilarious), often profound bloggers. She’s an occasional contributor at Faith and Family Live.  Enjoy.

Longing for you

They will praise you, Lord, who long for you.
And to him my soul shall live;
my descendants shall serve him.
Let the coming generation be told of the LORD
that they may proclaim to a people yet to be born
the justice he has shown.

This is part of today’s psalm (ps 22:31-32).

I can’t help but read that with the eyes of a mother, and hear it with a heart of a woman who desires to raise her own decedents–the very ones I feed and clothe in my own little home–that they too may proclaim to people yet born the wonders and perfect goodness and justice of our Lord.  I often question how I will pass on my faith? Am I doing enough?

What about you? Comments welcomed.

Not meeting tonight

We’re not meeting due to this impending storm. We’re just going to meet next month. March 1. Same time, same place. Same subject.

Hungry like the wolf

That’s the topic of our next Saint Mom’s U. The focus is about keeping evil at bay in this crazy world. I’m looking forward to sharing a bunch of good stuff as well as some lively discussion. If you have any comments or hot topics you might like discussed at the session, let me know.  It’s Tuesday, from 7-9.

Welcome to Saint Mom’s U!

Greetings and blessings to all!

Not without some challenges, I got this together, as promised. Finally. (A sigh of relief.)

The next session of Saint Mom’s U is Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 7-9 at SJA. Let me know if you plan to come. The contact link is off on the right side. I plan to update daily with a prayer and a discussion subject. I will continue to update resources on the resource link. There are some kinks to work out, but I’m getting there.
