During Lent, we’re doing morning offerings with the kids before school and then a midday offering when they come home. I’m including the prayers, here, in case you want to copy or modify them for your own family.
Our Morning Offering During Lent
[Make the Sign of the Cross]
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for another day and this gift of life.
I offer to you my prayers,
all that I do, and all that I may struggle with
as I walk with you during Lent on the path toward Easter.
Help me remember today and always that I am your body here on earth.
You are in my heart, my hands and feet, eyes and ears.
May I try my hardest to act as you would,
and to be your disciple by sharing your love
with all I meet today.
Amen.
Our Midday Offering During Lent
[Make the Sign of the Cross]
Dear Jesus,
My day is half over, Thank you for always being at my side in the hours passed and the hours yet to be.
I pray for those who need my prayers and for all those who have no one to pray for them. I especially pray this afternoon for the intentions of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict the 16th.
and … (Your own special intentions)
Always in your name we pray, (Hail Mary and a Glory Be)
Amen.
