They will praise you, Lord, who long for you.
And to him my soul shall live;
my descendants shall serve him.
Let the coming generation be told of the LORD
that they may proclaim to a people yet to be born
the justice he has shown.
This is part of today’s psalm (ps 22:31-32).
I can’t help but read that with the eyes of a mother, and hear it with a heart of a woman who desires to raise her own decedents–the very ones I feed and clothe in my own little home–that they too may proclaim to people yet born the wonders and perfect goodness and justice of our Lord. I often question how I will pass on my faith? Am I doing enough?
